Oh Plax!  What are you doing?  Every news agency on Earth is reporting that former Steelers WR and general lunatic about town Plaxico Burress accidentally shot himself in the leg Friday night at a NYC nightclub.  He was in the hospital overnight but was home by Saturday afternoon and is supposedly fine.  He was already ruled out of this week’s Giants lineup with some mundane hamstring injury.

According to the NY Post:

After moving to a secluded area with a guard, he allegedly took the gun out and started to unload the bullets while drinking a glass of wine. But the sure-handed wideout began to bobble the firearm, accidentally firing a shot that ripped through his leg but missed the bone.

A source said a guard came over in the aftermath, emptied the gun’s chamber and then gave it back to Burress.

Additionally, the knucklehead doesn’t have a permit to carry a weapon in NY, the state that happens to have, arguably, the most restrictive laws against such activity in the nation.  That’s a felony offense, dude.

OK, so let me get this straight…He’s illegally holding a weapon, tries to unload it while drinking alcohol, drops it despite being paid millions of dollars a year to have sure hands, and then shoots himself in the leg.  A-MAZING!

I think it’s reasonable to believe that Plax is done in NY at this point.  Think about that statement.  Guys like him usually get run from smaller cities that can’t contain their outrageous and often times self destructive antics.  Many people argue that was the case with Burress in Pittsburgh and even Plax himself as alluded to it.  But he’s on the verge of being persona non grata in the “Greatest City in the World”.  I’m not sure I can say the word “dumbass” enough.
