No live blog this week as I was indisposed and relegated to watching the game with no laptop. My cloudy recounting of the day's activities will have to do.
Perfect? Eh, not quite. Dominating? Fo' sho'. The Steelers lost the opening coin toss on Sunday and that was pretty much the worst thing that happened to them all day. The final score ended up at 38-17, but let's face it, but it might as well have been 138-17. The 21 point margin doesn't even come close to representing the domination, especially considering the two garbage scores out of Houston in the last 9 minutes.
Big Ben was a deadly-efficient 13 of 14 for 137 and 2 TDs and Willie Parker put up 138 on the ground to go with his 3 TDs. Old man Hines Ward 6 catches and 2 TDs of his own, not counting the 76-yarder that was called back after he mugged his defender. On the defensive side, James Harrison worked over Houston's rookie LT Duane Brown and on the other side, LaMarr Woodley was busy wreaking all kinds of havoc.
So are the Steelers that good or is Houston that bad? Well, Houston really is that bad…this we know for sure. The Steelers have the highly over-rated Browns this week, so we may not get a decent Pittsburgh football litmus test until week 3 against the Eagles. For now though, the Steelers definitely look like a top shelf team.
